Are you currently working within the arts and creative industries or have training in an arts related subject and want to help other over come the barriers you have faced? If so, then we want you! MAM are always looking to increase its team of mentors who all receive accredited training and an Enhanced CRB Check, all for free.

MAM mentors offer their time voluntarily for 1-2 hours a month to mentor a young artist from a similar arts background to themselves to help them to develop their skills, knowledge and direction in the career or training they wish to pursue. Are you a young person with a talent for something creative? Do you want to develop your skills, move on to training and employment within the arts and creative industries? Yes? Then we can help! Manchester Arts Mentoring is A project that has been establish to specifically help young people in and around Manchester to develop their arts interest and skills through training and employment. How do you get this training and employment? Well…

We will match you with an arts professional who currently works within the arts and creative industries. These professionals have all trained to become mentors to young people. Mentors will use their experience and knowledge to help develop your own skills and knowledge, they will also provide you with networking opportunities and access to information.

Mentors give their time voluntarily to meet with your for 1 or 2 hours a month to help provide direction, advice and just to chat to about any problems you maybe having in your professional development.

You will be matched with a mentor depending on several factors, which include your needs for development, what art form you work in and where you are. Once matched you will be with your mentor for six months, at the end of this period the match will be reviewed. More information about being mentored
