www.punch-records.co.uk
Punch Records is based in Birmingham. A useful website with lots of links. Find out about what Punch records does - DJ workshops and Projects in their area. Also a retail outlet "leading black music specialists" with a mail order service. You can also access information to links for UK wide careers opportunities and funding streams relating to music.

A site more relevant for workers working with young people and music.

www.youthmusic.org.uk
Information about music projects funded by youth music - for ages up to 18 who mainly live in areas of social and economic need, targeting those who would otherwise not have the opportunity. Site is very detailed. It includes information on accessing funding for music projects, career opportunities and information on the projects funded - with links to each of their web sites! I found it difficult to read on my computer screen as outlined font was used which made it impossible to see what some of the links said. Other than that good interactive site - another one for workers working with young people and music.

www.breweryarts.co.uk
web site on the Brewery Arts centre in Kendal Cumbria. Has job opportunities advertised plus what's on at the centre and projects running for young people. This web site is badly designed, as there is some overlapping of text making it impossible to read.

www.brouhaha.uk.com
Brouhaha is an annual Carnival arts festival in Liverpool, with many workshops for young people running up to the festival date. The site lets you know what Brouhaha International is doing and has done - plus the who what where and why's of this years festival.

www.srp.org.uk/nyro
Society of Recorder Players. Web site with details of the organisation, future performances and how to support the orchestra. Details of local branches, newsletter and courses running, plus projects that young people can get involved in.

www.soundsense.org
Sound Sense the UK's leading community music based organisation. Subscribe to their magazine & look out for events and training courses. You can find out about projects with different community groups eg, prisons, health, disability, schools, etc. Has a clever database to make searching easier.

www.musiciansunion.org.uk
Still the leading organisation representing musicians & the issues affecting them. Good advice & a very useful service for both industry & community based practitioners. Has specialist section; health & safety; links etc.

www.vitaminic.co.uk
Vitaminic - Get your music onto the web, get it heard, played & sold. All for free! The first step in your career not just as an artist but also as a label.

www.prsf.co.uk
Performing Rights Society Foundation - main objectives are to encourage, promote and stimulate the creation and performance of all genres of music and to help people have a positive experience of new music. Funding opportunities for all music genres. Can also find out about music events, festivals and projects across the UK.

www.youthartsonline.org
youthartsonline.org is being developed as a dedicated directory or “portal” aimed at two main audiences: young people who want information about opportunities in the arts wherever they live in the UK; youth arts practitioners and organisations who want to provide young people with information about workshops, training, courses and events.
