Artsplan Course: Cornerhouse Monday 11th June 07- Using the Arts with Young Asylum Seekers and Refugees

This one-day course is a practical exploration of the role and use of arts with young refugees and asylum seekers. The course begins with an exploration of the barriers to social and educational inclusion experienced by young people when they begin a new life in Britain and explores the role of the arts in contributing to inclusion. Prices Range from: GBP150 to GBP110. Bursaries also available. ENYAN full members receive a 10% discount on all training and publications.

Hub4 A reminder about Hub4 Course guide 2007

If you're a creative person and fancy a career in the arts and media, aged 16 - 25, not in education, employment or training, then Hub4 might have a place for you. Throughout 2007 Hub4 are running a variety of training courses, some have already taken place but there are a number of courses still on offer. Courses running throughout 2007 include....Peer Motivation, Introduction To Youth Arts, Creative Facilitation, Marketing, Funding, Event Management, Peer Evaluation, Arts for everyone, Working with Children and Young People and Self Employment In The Arts.

Safety Audit: Child Protection 29 May

This day aims to ensure that the children, staff and volunteers engaged in the arts through your organisation are as safe as they can be. The message is how to manage the demands of legislation (including the Vulnerable Groups Bill 2006) to meet the particular needs of your organisation.

Course leader Liz White head Consultant and Chief Executive, British & International Federation of Festivals Executive Director, National Youth Music Theatre. Liz has provided child protection workshops for 300 festivals in the UK and Republic of Ireland since 2003, alongside other consultancies for schools, museums and arts organisations.

The event is aimed at national voluntary arts umbrella bodies, but is relevant to anyone involved in voluntary arts provision (voluntary arts organisations, local authority arts officers, Arts Council staff, policy makers, consultants etc). How much? Just £25 per session.  The course will be on29 May 2007 - 10.30am to 4.00pm at YHA Manchester, Potato Wharf, Castlefield, Manchester, M3 4NB.

This course is for managers who require effective influencing skills to achieve results by gaining the co-operation of other departments or senior managers.  The course uses professional actors to provide realistic and challenging opportunities to practice the skills learnt and receive constructive feedback.

DART Courses: Free Professional Development For The Creative Industries

Please see below for the latest round of training events offered by the DART project.
