TRAINING

An Introduction to Working in Youth Justice

Wednesday 19 March, 10.30am-3.30pm
The session will provide participants with an overview of the Youth and Criminal Justice System; an introduction to the What Works? Agenda and the different roles of the artist in Criminal Justice. It will be led by Simon Ruding, Director of Manchester-based Theatre in Prisons and Probation (TiPP).

The session is at Green Fish Resource Centre, 46-50 Oldham Street, Manchester M4 1LE. The room is on the 2nd floor and the venue has excellent access. There is limited parking on nearby streets, however it is close to the city centre and convenient for buses, trams etc. A map with directions can be viewed & downloaded from www.can.uk.com/contacts/contacts_main.htm. Places are free & access costs (e.g. interpretation, disability access etc) can be covered, however a £5.00 returnable deposit (cheque or cash) is required to reserve a place. Communicating With Clarity

Apr 24-26 / Aug 21-23
A 3-day course with a one-day option for people wishing to develop their communication skills with individuals, and in leadership and management - to communicate effectively with ease, to coach self and others, and to manage and resolve conflict.

Course outcomes:

  • Learn to set outcomes for yourself and with others so they can be realised
  • Understand what drives our actions and trains of thought
  • Communicate in ways people enjoy
  • Use language accurately and elegantly so that people are more likely to understand what is that you'd like to be understood
  • Learn how to invite people to want to do what you ask them to do.

If you manage others or yourself, assist people's personal or creative development, or wish to enhance communications and relationships, this training will give you immediate and lasting insights and tools.

This course enables you to apply for The CreativeCoach™ certificated practitioner training.

Course leader - creative consultant Rivca Rubin M.Sc.

This course is held in Manchester's Northern Quarter and can be brought into your organisation, as well as in-house training tailored to your organisational needs.

 

The Leadership Dynamic

May 28 & 29 plus 3rd day set with participants
A 3-day course designed for those in leadership and management positions.
The course explores leadership as a dynamic and how it manifests in our lives; whether we are artists involved in the act of creation, parents, managers, part of a team, a project co-ordinator, workshop leader, a chief executive or simply, are looking for a greater sense of personal self-leadership. Throughout the course duration you will work on your own leadership manifesto.

Course outcomes:

  • Articulated awareness of own leadership style, ethos and competencies
  • Awareness of desired leadership style, ethos and competencies
  • Expanded knowledge of leadership styles
  • Expanded tool box; skills, techniques etc
  • Greater understanding of self and others

Arts Award Moderators

Trinity Guildhall welcomes applications from arts practitioners and arts educators interested in becoming Arts Award moderators.

If you have at least five years, full-time professional experience in a relevant field, and have experience of assessment in the arts then we want to hear from you. If your application is successful you will be added to our pool of moderators. We are looking for professionals with a wide range of knowledge cross artform and interest in contemporary youth culture. You will have an ability to travel widely in England for at least 10 days per year (this is flexible throughout the year i.e. teachers can potentially moderate outside of school terms) The work will involve conducting moderation of assessments made locally by advisers.

Daily rate for Arts Award Moderators is £182 plus expenses
