Training & Jobs TRAINING Diploma in Performing Arts CSV Media Clubhouse & City College Manchester are teaming up to offer a BTEC Introductory Diploma in Performing Arts (NQF Level 1) to 15 NEET (Not engaged in Employment, Education or Training) 16-19 year olds currently without a Level 2 Qualification (equivalent to 5 A*-Cs GCSE). Participants can be from all across Greater Manchester. The aims of this project are to re-engage learners who have left school without a Level 2 qualification in a rigorous and practical education in the Performing Arts. As well as developing their performance skills, they will develop a technical awareness in media, as both radio and video performance will be explored. Through this hands-on course, they will develop their basic skills through from literacy and numeracy to personal effectiveness and approaching the world of work. This will in turn develop their confidence, helping to realise a sense of achievement at the end of the project. The course will be broken down into four individual projects: Producing a Radio Advert, Presenting to Camera, Compiling an Arts Finance Portfolio and Producing a News Report. The course starts on Monday 4 February, (induction on Friday 1 February), with interviews through January. Using the Arts with Young People at Risk- Artsplan Training Artsplan, the training and publications department of Artswork and in-house training provider for ENYAN (English National Youth Arts Network), are delivering the very well established course 'Using the Arts with Young People at Risk' on 5 February at Cornerhouse. Artsplan is the largest provider of specialist youth arts training courses and publications in the UK and all training and publications are written and supported by experienced youth arts specialists, currently involved in a variety of project work through the UK. This course gives an overview of the benefits of using the arts with young people at risk and covers essential areas when doing so. Participants are given an understanding of youth arts and youth culture and the skill set needed to successfully design, fund, manage and market an appropriate arts project. Current CRB child protection legislation will be considered, ensuring your youth arts project complies with the recommended guidelines. Get Sorted 2: Budgeting and Fundraising for Youth Arts Projects 26 March, 10am- 4.15pm BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, Gateshead Quays, South Shore Road, Gateshead NE8 3BA Artsplan, the training and publications arm of Artswork, the national youth arts development agency, is pleased to be delivering the renowned one day course 'Get Sorted 2: budgeting and fundraising for youth arts projects' at the new North East Artsplan Training Centre- BALTIC, a contemporary gallery, housed in one of Gateshead's landmark industrial buildings. 'Get Sorted 2: budgeting and fundraising for youth arts projects' is aimed at anyone who has a good idea for a youth arts project, but needs help in developing their budget and successfully securing funding. Based upon years of experience of setting up and running successful youth arts projects in avariety of settings, Get Sorted 2 will take you through a step by step guide for planning and drafting your own budget, advise on the best way to fill in funding applications and suggest where you can go to find the funds you need. Youth Arts Facilitators needed hub4 is delivering a series of go4: a youth arts workshops for young people aged 16-25 who aren't in employment, education or training. >We're holding 2 events in the North West: Tuesday 25 March - The Lighthouse, Liverpool, 9.30am-4pm We're currently looking for facilitators to run workshops for us at these events. Sessions will be for approximately two hours, with one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Preferably facilitators will be able to run sessions at both of these events. We're looking for facilitators in the following artforms:

Children's Charity Seeks Music Workshop Leaders HemiHelp, a charity for children and young people with hemiplegia, is looking for experienced music workshop leaders in all parts of the UK to run workshops for 5-16 year olds. Hemiplegia is a neurological condition that weakens one side of the body, and affects up to one child in a thousand. It is sometimes described as a form of cerebral palsy, and the effects are similar to those of a stroke. The HemiHelp music workshop scheme was set up to encourage children with hemiplegia to take a further interest in music, and to discover that they are able to become involved in musical activities and also able to play musical instruments. The scheme has been successfully running for over a year, and we are now looking to reach more of our members across the country. We are looking for enthusiastic, energetic and creative workshop leaders that have experience in working with children with physical disabilities and special educational needs, to join a pool of contacts across the country and work on a freelance basis. Music Workshop Leaders of all musical backgrounds and genres are invited to apply. All applicants should possess an enhanced CRB.
