Training for young people / workers JOBS Projects Manager for Creative Development at Contact Theatre This post holder will be responsible for the co-ordination, delivery and evaluation of a wide variety of participatory projects with young people. We are looking for applicants with a variety of experiences that may include youth work, music promotion, community development or performing arts. Creative & Cultural Skills, the employer-led Sector Skills Council, has announced a UK-wide series of live events in early 2007, the most local one will take place at the Lowry Centre on 20 February. Employers, practitioners and education providers are being invited to "Access All Areas" and take part in a major overhaul of skills and training for the creative and cultural industries. Each event will be an important opportunity to influence the content of Creative Blueprint - the first Sector Skills Agreement for Advertising, Craft, Cultural Heritage, Design, Music and the Arts. The government- backed action plan will direct the long term supply of all publicly funded education and training for the sector. Details of the new Creative Apprenticeship - the first recognised apprenticeship framework for the sector, currently being developed by Creative & Cultural Skills- will also be unveiled. Prototype apprenticeship schemes are being run in cities including London, Liverpool and Manchester during the first half of 2007.

The Clore Leadership Programme is designed to help develop the knowledge, skills, networks and experience of potential leaders across a wide range of cultural activity. We are pleased to announce that in 2007/8 we shall be offering a Fellowship in Theatre Administration, supported by The Gatsby Charitable Foundation. The Fellow in Theatre Administration will have an individually tailored programme, lasting a year or longer, and starting in September 2007. Dalcroze offers a unique approach to improving musical performance. It is an effective and established creative approach to musical training. It develops awareness and skill in co-ordination, musicianship, solo and ensemble performance for musicians, dancers and others. The weekend will focus on Dalcroze techniques and learning methods, with uses and applications for Piano Teachers (March 3rd) and Instrumentalists in the Wider Community (March 4th). Both days run 10.00am - 4.30pm at the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester Oxford Road. Participants are welcome to register for 1 day or 2 day attendance (£50 or £80 respectively).
