MYA Annual Events 2006
MYA’s live youth arts showcase on 1 November at Zion Arts was attended by over 180 people who enjoyed performances by 60 performers including Free Expression Dance UK and Manchester Youth Soul Choir. In the gallery space for two weeks from 30 October, a visual arts exhibition of children and young people’s artworks from 19 groups was displayed.
The practitioner’s seminar on 2 November at Manchester Art Gallery was attended by 67 delegates. Fourteen speakers, including Odd Theatre with its Theatre Against Guns project, spoke about how they had built self –esteem and respect through their projects. This year, Nine young actors group interacted with the audiences experiences which was followed by a lively panel debate and networking lunch.
