Krishna, a show for schools

Following the success of their matinee show for schools in February 07, Upasana offers Krishna, a show for schools.

The audience will be exposed to a combination of Indian philosophy, dance and music in English supported by dynamic dance presentations and soul-stirring music.

Be it RE, multicultural, interfaith exposure, a professional theatre visit or a creative incentive/nourishment, Krishna is an ideal choice. This introduces one of the most popular characters of the Hindu/ Indian pantheon in an audience-friendly manner.

Schools can design an exercise on report writing, RE, or some quiet time discussions around their visit and experience of a new culture and artform.

The cost for a show will be £400 + VAT, with the school providing the performance space.
Additional, linked workshops are also available.

If your school is interested please contact Deepa Ganesh, Artistic Director on 0161 4455811 / upasana_uk@hotmail.com / www.upasana-arts.com

Inside the Lines, Thursday 6 - Saturday 8 December

Community Arts North West in conjunction with Zion Arts Centre presents Inside The Lines
Thu 6 – Sat 8 Dec, 7.30pm. Matineé show Sat, 4pm.

An all consuming physical and visual experience, fusing dance, theatre & digital arts with an original music score.

Inside The Lines is the climax of a 6-month creative process delivered by Community Arts North West bringing together culturally diverse young people, artists, volunteers and youth workers from across Greater Manchester to present a dynamic and original hip-hop theatre production.

Part of the 2nd year of the Urban Music Theatre Programme, the story is told with the true voices of Manchester’s young people: diverse, passionate and direct.

Every day the same faces, same time, same places...
Eric sees things differently than other people.
Eva has big dreams to break a cycle that traps all those around her
Sara connects to a past she's never known
Nayim clings on to a disappearing hope
