MYAN E-Bulletin: Issue 19: August - September 2008 2. Upcoming Events & Projects Young Muslim playwriting project Are you of Muslim heritage? Aged 16 - 25? Into playwriting, or fancy giving it a try? Would you like to see your work performed by professional actors at the Royal Exchange? If this is you, or if you work with young Muslims, we want to hear from you! We're looking for people to take part in this brand new playwriting project, with single sex and mixed workshops for individuals, taking place between October and December, and tailor-made sessions for community groups. The project will result in two evenings of readings and performances of play scenes, written by YOU, here in the theatre in Spring 2009. The Deadline for scene submissions is 10 December. Designer Magazine all ages gigs Following the Summer Break, Designer Magazine are proud to announce the first gigs of the new school term at Bar Amp in Sale and our new city centre home SSR (School Of Sound Recording) * Sept 26th @ Bar Amp, Sale - The Result, Sex Radio, The Shotters & more TBC confirmed. Doors at 6pm and tickets just £5 on the door We're currently seeking out new teenage indie bands to play gigs in South Manchester and the City Centre as well as new members of the promotion team across the region. Designer Magazine's previous all ages gigs have attracted national attention from Radio 1 and newspapers such as the Observer, Telegraph & The Times. Our bands have gone on to feature in publications such as NME and Clash Magazine.
So you want to be an artist? If you have dreams of drawing or a passion for painting then join professional artist Jack Doyle for this hands-on creative workshop. It's a not-to-be-missed chance to ask questions, learn practical tips and pick the brain of someone who's been there and done it, as well as try out new and exciting approaches to making art. Rambert youth dance workshop Rambert Dance Company lead a dance workshop for young people aged 14-18. This is a fantastic opportunity for young people to develop their dance and choreographic skills through working with a professional dance artist. The workshop will include the chance to learn some of the repertoire from the Company's new production of Eternal Light and is suitable for young people with some dance experience. Suitable for intermediate levels, aged 13-18
